What to Expect

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

Sunday school for adults and youth take place from 9:15—10:15am (nursery provided).

WHAT WILL A SERVICE LOOK LIKE?

Beginning at 10:30am, our service starts with a pastoral welcome and then worship in singing. Most people stand during this time, however, there is complete freedom to be seated if you prefer. The words of all of the songs are projected onto a screen at the front, though we do have hymnals for those who'd rather see the music as well. In an effort to worship our King both in spirit and in truth, we sing both hymns and spiritual songs. Our hope is that you'll hear songs you know or can relate to, even if you haven't been to church in years. Like most churches we take an offering in our service. If you are a guest, please do not feel obligated to participate in the offering. This is intended for our regular attendees who consider FocalPoint their church home.

We believe that the Scripture is the fresh and present voice of God by which He communicates through the Holy Spirit to His people. Therefore, the pastors at FocalPoint preach expositional and Christ-centered sermons (which generally last 45 minutes to an hour). It is our goal to proclaim the Word clearly in an understandable way to effect practical change in the hearer who then becomes a worshiper of Jesus.

We traditionally partake of the Lord’s Supper (Communion) on the first Sunday of the month. There is always an opportunity for individuals to pray with a pastor or another church leader after each service.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

At FocalPoint Bible Church, we focus on the heart more than the outward appearance. When you come to a Sunday service, you will find people dressed in a variety of styles from as casual as jeans and T-shirts, to as formal as ties and dresses. Come as you feel comfortable. We do ask that people wear clothing that does not draw attention to themselves. We think that what you wear to church should not detract from the worship experience of others around you. We want all of the attention to go to Jesus Christ.

CHILDCARE

During the sermon, we encourage families to worship together. However, we have a nursery and program for children who have not developed the maturity to sit through the sermon.

FELLOWSHIP

There is a greeting time within the service for quick hello's but our people tend to either come early or linger after the service to enjoy fellowship. Every second Sunday of the month we eat together following the service with a potluck style lunch.
