Local & International Missions

Read below to see what our church is doing in El Sobrante and Contra Costa County, as well as internationally.

  • Helping meet needs of foster children in our county

Since 2022, we are a CarePortal Connecting Church which means we receive notifications from Contra Costa EHSD on foster youth, youth in bio or kinship families in need of items such as beds, furniture, clothing, school supplies. Once we make contact with the case worker, we go out to purchase these items, deliver to the family, and invite them to church. We also involve the local business community to donate or give discounts on things like repairing broken windows, appliances, and the like.

  • Host Site for Bimonthly Red Cross Blood Drive

We host Red Cross blood drives every other month. We encourage you to register for our upcoming blood drive at www.redcross.org/donate-blood, and use our Sponsor Code: FPBC.

  • Helping 310 Orphans in Mbarara, Uganda

We send approximately $2,600 per month to Passionate Hearts Ministries in Mbarara, Uganda, where the volunteer pastors purchase & deliver rice and corn flour which feeds 310 orphans. Tim Case, our member, meets with their pastors and their congregations each Friday morning to go through Bible lessons via Zoom. Any additional donations go towards school tuition, medical fees, and life skills machinery to teach the older orphans employable skills. We are currently helping the team with a business plan to bring their leather goods to their local market and one day, internationally. Read the June 2022 Report here: Passioante_Hearts_Ministries_Report_June_22.pdf.

  • Helping SHe Is Safe ARound Trafficking

We send monthly donations to She Is Safe, which is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to rescuing girls from trafficking around the globe. We invite their staff to our church every summer to give us a detailed report of the previous year's milestones and stories from the field. Learn more about She Is Safe at www.sheissafe.org.

  • Cornerstone Bible College & Seminary

We send monthly donations to Cornerstone Bible College & Seminary, where two of our young men are currently attending in addition to their full time jobs. To learn more, visit https://tcbs.org.

  • CA Southern Baptist Convention

Although we give monthly to the CA Southern Baptist Convention to give towards missions, we have been given many benefits. After a one-day evangelism training earlier in 2022 by a speaker through the Convention, we also received a grant to invest in our evangelism outreach efforts in our community, such as door-to-door outreach, church picnics, men's breakfasts, women's high teas, participating in the annual El Sobrante Stroll, to name a few. The Convention also has provided us a speaker earlier this year to train our members on Biblical Stewardship and offered one-on-one financial planning advice.

  • BRIDGES Bay Area Association

We give monthly to BRIDGES Bay Area Association and work with them on publicizing our church events and programs. Their goal is to strengthen existing churches and church plants in the Bay Area.

  • Angel Tree Prison Fellowship

Each Christmas, our church donates gifts to children of inmates. We purchase items and visit the children at their caregivers' homes to personally deliver gifts and invite them to church.
